JAKARTA – Fenomena kontras kepemimpinan antara stabilitas politik luar negeri dan dinamika domestik Indonesia kini tengah menjadi sorotan tajam para pengamat politik. Di tengah eskalasi geopolitik global, Indonesia dinilai sedang mengalami paradoks kepemimpinan yang mengancam kualitas demokrasi nasional.
Aktivis demokrasi sekaligus pengamat pemerintahan, Syamsuddin Alimsyah, dalam keterangannya seperti dikutip di kanal Asanesia TV baru-baru ini, menyoroti perbedaan mencolok antara cara pemerintah Iran mengelola kedaulatan negaranya dibandingkan dengan situasi politik di tanah air. Ia menilai, Indonesia saat ini justru terjebak dalam “keributan” antara pemerintah dan rakyatnya sendiri.
“Ada dua pemandangan yang sangat kontras. Di luar negeri, kita melihat bagaimana masyarakat Iran begitu kompak dan bangga dengan jati dirinya dalam menghadapi tekanan negara adidaya. Namun di dalam negeri, pemandangannya terbalik 180 derajat. Pemerintah kita justru sibuk berkonflik dengan rakyatnya sendiri,” ujar Syamsuddin Alimsyah dalam diskusi yang disiarkan melalui kanal ASANESIA TV, dikutip Kamis (23/4).
Paradoks Pencitraan vs Kebijakan
Salah satu poin krusial yang disoroti adalah efektivitas komando kepemimpinan. Syamsuddin Alimsyah membandingkan bagaimana elit politik di Indonesia cenderung berebut panggung publik, namun seringkali gagal dalam memastikan kebijakan tersebut berjalan efektif di akar rumput.
“Di Indonesia, para menteri dan elit berebutan tampil di publik, tetapi kebijakannya tidak jalan di masyarakat. Ini kontras dengan negara lain di mana pemimpinnya mungkin jarang tampil secara teatrikal, namun sistem dan kebijakannya satu komando serta dipatuhi,” tambahnya.
Ancaman Otoritarianisme Modern
Kondisi dalam negeri kian diperparah dengan munculnya diksi “menertibkan pengamat” yang belakangan mencuat dari lingkaran istana. Hal ini dianggap sebagai sinyal kembalinya gaya kepemimpinan otoriter yang menggunakan bahasa-bahasa eufemisme untuk membungkam kritik.
Pengamat menilai istilah “inflasi pengamat” yang dilontarkan pihak pemerintah adalah upaya untuk mendelegitimasi suara kritis cendekiawan. Sebaliknya, yang terjadi justru dianggap sebagai “obesitas pemerintah”—sebuah kondisi di mana struktur pemerintahan terlalu gemuk namun kering akan kepemimpinan yang solutif bagi persoalan rakyat.
“Musuh pemerintah itu bukan rakyat atau pengamat. Rakyat adalah entitas yang harus dilindungi dan disejahterakan, bukan ditempatkan sebagai lawan politik melalui upaya kriminalisasi,” tegas Samsudin.
Risiko Ledakan Sosial
Para aktivis memperingatkan bahwa jika pola kepemimpinan yang represif dan kebijakan yang “ugal-ugalan” ini terus dipelihara, Indonesia berisiko menghadapi pesimisme publik yang mendalam. Tanpa ruang kritik yang sehat, kebijakan negara dikhawatirkan hanya akan menguntungkan segelintir elit, yang pada akhirnya dapat memicu ledakan sosial.
Syamsuddin Alimsyah mengajak seluruh elemen masyarakat untuk tetap konsisten menyuarakan kritik sebagai bentuk kecintaan terhadap negara. “Diamnya kita adalah pembiaran terhadap pemerintahan yang korup dan fasis. Kritis itu bukan benci, tapi menjaga agar pemerintah tetap pada rel yang benar,” pungkasnya.

Mathieson Jr. told the business media outlet. In August, Star finalized a deal to sell 50% of The
Star Brisbane, which freed the company from more than AU$1 billion in debt.
While a government inquiry acknowledged CTFE’s lack of candour with regulators, it ultimately deemed the
company fit to hold a casino licence, citing “differences in cultural and organisational expectations.” A 2022 ABC investigation linked the company to junket
boss Alvin Chau through a Vietnam casino venture, despite its claims to have severed ties.
The company’s shares, once trading above $4 in 2019, now hover around 12 cents
despite a nearly 30% jump following the latest announcement.
The transaction has already secured the backing of US-based Bally’s Corporation and Bruce Mathieson’s Investment Holdings Pty Ltd, who
together provided AU$300 million in emergency funding earlier this year in exchange for a controlling stake in Star, pending
probity checks. A replacement operator—yet to be named—will eventually take over the casino’s management.
